Second Graders: I gave the second grade students a standard piece of construction paper. They were instructed to make a bird. I told them how big their bird should be - otherwise I would end up with a bunch of 3 inch birds. They could add features like wings, eyes, beaks etc with scrap paper provided. I purchased a large wall tree - TREND brand. I added their birds into the branches and filled in with the green leaves and critters. The tree is probably 5 ft tall- it was perfect size for all of our creations. Maybe we will add pumpkins to the ground for Halloween.

Birds in a tree
